At James Oval, our Fremantle - 2s came up short against University - 2s on a frustrating day.
Batting first, we posted 8/220 from 50 overs. A classy 56 off 75 balls from Jarryd Mcphee was the highlight. Jack Temple's 51 off 76 balls was a half-century to remember. Solid support came from Jack Camarda, who made 43. Arnav Pimple did the damage for University - 2s with four for 46.
The hosts knocked off the runs, finishing on 6/221 in 49 overs. Fifty for Bernard Greyling, who made 70 for our opponents. Matthew O’Keeffe made a good 59 not out for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century. Temple was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 30 off nine overs. Alex Xiao chipped in with two for 58.
Credit to our opponents, who played well. We're 14th on the ladder at the moment. Up next is Scarborough - 2s next Saturday.
